Fine Art Wildlife Photography Print by multi-award winning photographer Sam Turley - Lion
Location: Chobe National Park, Botswana
Description: Chobe National Park is such a stunning area for wildlife photography. It's easily accessible from Victoria Falls and animals are fairly easy to spot.
Whilst on vacation in Victoria Falls, I had read about a coalition of two young male lions that were challenging the alpha male to take over the pride in Chobe. I thought the chances of me finding them was very slim but it would be zero if I stayed in Vic Falls and so I booked onto a day trip.
With only about six hours to find them I knew it was a tall order but we set off to try anyway.
About four hours in I had lost all hopes of seeing them and was just enjoying the game drive when we turned a sharp corner and almost bumped into them sleeping about ten metres from the road. I could not believe it.
One of the brothers briefly lifted his head to check us out revealing a gnarly scar that he must have acquired the night before. You can see it in his eyes, he's coming for the king.
Scarface.
